Spain Win UEFA Nations League

Croatia 4-5 Spain (4-5 on penalties)

Dani Carvajal Scored Winning Penalty as Spain Secures First Trophy in 13 Years

Spain have ended their 13-year trophy drought by winning the UEFA Nations League after beating Croatia 5-4 on penalties in the final on Sunday 18th June at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.

The match was a tense affair, with both teams creating chances but failing to find the back of the net in regulation time. The game went to extra time, and again neither team could break the deadlock.

The match then went to penalties, and Spain goalkeeper Unai Simón was the hero, saving two penalties to give his team the victory. Dani Carvajal scored the winning penalty, sending Spain to their first trophy since winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The victory is a major boost for Spain, who have been struggling for form in recent years. It is also a sign that the team is on the right track under new manager Luis Enrique.

For Croatia, the defeat is a disappointment, but they can take heart from the fact that they reached the final of the Nations League. The team has shown great progress in recent years, and they will be looking to build on this performance in the future.
